View Full Version : Help me chose a TV for my Bedroom
I am looking for an HDTV for my room. Preferable around 30" or so, must be 16:9, Price to be less than $1500. Are there any with built in HD tuners?
I have been thinking of the Samsungs for around $1000. Are they any good? The RCA 38" seems like a good buy for $1500 with the tuner built in, but I read way too many bad reviews on line.
I have a Mits WS65907 in my living room with the Mits HD400 STB in my family room. Is there a way I can use that STB and split the signal when it is not being used downstairs?

Yeah Samsung has one that has got great reviews go to CNET.com but as far as the built in HD tuner theres no way that would happen for under 1,500

My junk has been great for over a year! 38" widescreen with a built in tuner. Best move I made for HDTV.
Yeah, there were problems with the JX1 and JX2's. They were recalled and now being sold as refurbs by E-retailers.
Newer models do have known problems with inferior capacitors and diodes on the DM-1 module.
BUT... if you know what to expect going into the game, get an extended warranty to cover your butt, you can't beat the price!
Average price $1500 new...

why do that at all... I for one wouldnt want a HD set thats had probs. even if they have discounted it greatly... I dont trust RCA anyway not the best co. in my opinion for tvs anymore.....
I have to agree. Samsung makes a damn good HDTV at a very reaonable price. If you haven't looked at them yet, they blow away many more expensive tvs out there.

You really shoud know what you are talking about before you open your big mouth. I've seen many as you before.
By the way I've had an RCA F38310 for a year now and have not touched it. Many others on this forum also have it and are happy with it.
At least when I took it out of the box and hooked it up I didn't have to buy a DVD to set it up, tinker with it or call in an expert to adjust it.
Maybe you are just trying to justify your mistakes??????

I have a JX-5 and it's just about perfect. I have continued to check out others in stores since I bought mine and I still have not found anything that will touch the PQ. Not even the Plasmas that are a lot more money.
I'm happy and like I said on the other post, I don't have to tinker with it or pay someone else to keep adjusting it so it will have a watchable picture.
OK people, we will tollerate debate on the merits of various pieces of equipment, but we will not tollerate FLAMES
Tone it down and talk about the equipment, quit the "heresay", and stop calling each other names, it's so juvenile.

I use a Samsung 3096 with a 150 box in my bedroom and it is great. Like almost ALL tv's the set needs a little tweaking. But once I gave it a little TLC it is very nice for bedroom set up.
