I'm a noob to this board with a problem I can't seem to find an answer for. I have a TH-42PX25/U (great picture!) connected to a Motorola set top box for HD. When I connect a video camera up directly through S-Video or my VCR up through my HT Receiver (connected via component video) the picture is offset where about 2/3 of the picture is on the left side of the screen and the remaining 1/3 of the picture wraps around to the right side of the screen.
I had a similar problem with my DVD player but an adjustment to the progressive scan setting fixed that. I've looked through the documentation and through all of the TV menus without success.
Panasonic's FAQs and impossible-to-get-through tech support lead me here where it seems there are a bunch of knowledgeable users. I've looked through a lot of postings and the board FAQs but haven't seen a similar post.
Anybody have any ideas?

Have you tried it directly to the TV (not going through the receiver)?

In the case of the video camera, I was connected directly to the TV through the front-panel S-Video connector.

How about trying another S-video connection (on the back?)? Does it do the same with composite?

Do this at your own risk. Each input on my Panasonic is independent including within the service menu. This procedure might be different for you but you can give it a shot and see what happens. With your set powered off hold volume down on the set and recall (or possibly tv/video which selects your input) on your remote for about 7 to 10 seconds.
Your set should power up in the service menu. Then press and hold volume down again and the PIP swap button or possibly the Stop button, this should give you another menu for adjustments. In video it will give Horizontal and Vertical adj. Do not change any setting without recording their original values. When you go into either adj. it will bring up a funky grid across your set which will show you how things are lined up. I was able to adjust my screen postion this way, where as through my regular menu I wasn't because it was greyed out. The reason I noticed I needed to do this was because I was watching ESPNHD with bars on the sides and they were about a half inch from the top. During commercials, I was also seeing overscan lines at the top edge. I found out how to do this at the AVSforum and it took a while to find good luck.
Forgot to mention hitting Recall brings you back to your prior screen. To exit out power your set off and allow to get back in Standby mode. Then you should power up fine.

I tried one of the back-panel S-Video inputs and the front-panel composite inputs and still no dice.
Have you tried unplugging the TV for a time? This sometimes resets things.
Sounds like you have an SD (480i) input issue? You said PS DVD was fine and I assume the STB is fine? Have you tried connecting the cable to the internal NTSC Tuner (Ant). Have you tried setting the STB to output 480i?
If all 480i inputs cause the same problem and if your TV doesn't "reset", then you may have to call service.

The problem was fixed by a service call where they had to install new firmware. Apparently, Panasonic's help line never heard of it nor did their on-line help desk but the TV repair place new exactly what I was talking about and had a the fix here in about 2 days.
Thanks for your help!
