I just recently bought a Zenith E44W46LCD. I haven't had any problems with the TV until yesterday. The TV will "flash" and it will go black. The sound will continue to work but the picture is gone. I have tried changing from the DVI input to component and other video inputs but the picture is still gone. I have to turn off the TV and turn it back on for the picture to come back. Sometimes the TV will work fine for hours, but then go black every 5 minutes or so returning to working fine for hours again.
It's not my DirecTV box since none of the inputs are showing up. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Uh oh. :( This sounds like one of the symptoms I was having with my Zenith C32V37 (see the thread). My problems first started with random blurriness to the picture and then one day it started off very dark with partial images in a dark orangish color that would flash back to full normal brightness and sometimes stay or sometimes go back to black.
It has been at the repair shop for a week. They ordered a transformer for it and will let me know what else (if anything) is going on with it after they install that.
I will be very interested in what your issue turns out to be.
Thanks,
Bob

I took the TV into the repair shop April 16th. The guy said it would take about a week or so. I gave him a call today, April 23, and he said it was a bad power supply. He is still waiting for the parts and will give me an update next week. Hopefully things will work now!

I hope this is trhe end of it for you. If you think of it, would you ask him if that is sometimes referred to as the transformer? Maybe we had the same thing go bad...

Well....the guy called me back and told me it was a bad bulb I had, not a bad power source. He has to order it, install it and what not. Won't be able to give any updates for a few days I guess.

"Bulb"? Picture tube?

Well, the bulb on the RPLCD. Even though, it looked like it was lit to me when the picture went out. So I don't know. My worst fear is to get it back and have it crap out 3 days later. Ugh...my entertainment wants to know why there's such a little TV on it!

The lamp was replaced and the TV is working again. Watched a few hours yesterday and no problems. opefully I won't have anymore! Other than this minor problem, the TV has been great!

I bought this TV and had major issues. I had two go bad in a 3 week time phrame. Luckily it was still within the 30 days, so I was able to return them. I decided not to try this TV for a third time.
