Around a month ago I bought a TXM2796HF from best buy. I love the tv it looks great but i'm having a lot of problems w/ it as far as the picture and i want to know what to do.

For instance I use it for games PS2 w/ monster component cables and Xbox w/ Monster component cables

when there is a lot of motion on the screen I see these scan lines go all over objects on the screen. I've seen it also on my DVD movies. I've tried this on other tv's no HD but w/ component cables and i didn't see any scanlines.

why is this what settings do I have to change ?

I tried going into the service menu but I didn't know what to change can anyone help me or do I have to get this product serviced already

Or should I just return it and buy a Toshiba 27" non HD.

please help

thx

too2, welcome to the forum.

Check out the FAQ section, 6th one down on the home page, especially the post "what you need to do to your new HDTV". That may help your situation some, but digital TVs are different from analogue ones and you won't be able to get rid of all the digital artifacts - just the way it is for now.

Once we get really large buffers and computational power in these systems, some of these problems will disappear, like we made skipping on a CD disappear.

oh yea of course , I read that awhile ago and purchased the video essentials dvd , which honestly didn't do much for the TV so now i'm still stuck with that problem i was hoping someone w/ the same tv had the same problem and new how to correct it

oh well looks like i will be getting just a 27" toshiba non HD just to avoid headaches , $250 for an ISF technican is way too much for a college student . I won my HDTV from a contest at work so I didn't pay anything for it oh well

thanks

Why not use the composite inputs instead of the component inputs?

I just bought a this model a week ago and I have been asking myself the same question. I actually dont remember seing any distortion at all. If anything I see it more. Should I just get a anolog tv.
Did you get a response? or did you change your tv set? Can you give me your feedback. I am very dissapointed with this tv or with the HDTV quality. By the way, I also have monster cables.

Do you mean you exchanged it? If so what did you get?
