View Full Version : Problems playing AVIA chapters

I am having problem playing some of the video chapters on the AVIA disc. These are mostly the explanation videos preceeding each video calibration tests. Some videos would start playing but would hang in the middle and some won't even play at all. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I've tried playing the DVD on my philips 642/17 DVD player as well as my XBOX and still the same problem occurs.
Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I don't know why it would just affect the explanation parts. ??
Is the Avia DVD new? If so, get it replaced or go down to your favorite a/v store and try it out on another DVD player just to be sure.
I've been using Avia for several years and have no issues with my DVD other than the menus are a son-of-a-gun to navigate around in. I've heard that DVE is even worse.

AVIA did have some compatibility issues with some players, long ago, but it was mostly to do with finding a particular chapter. I have no explanation for the "hanging", etc.
You may have obtained a bad disk. As Lee says, if it hangs predictably at one spot, you can take it to a store and give it a try on several other players. Sometimes some players are "more sensitive" than others to defects.
