View Full Version : Motorola DCT6400 Question
For an HDTV, is there any way to set this device for pass-through on the DVI output. In going through the set-up menu, it it would appear that the only choices for high-def are either 1080i or 720p. It seems it would be preferable for the TV itself to do any converting without involving the STB.
Below is a link to the Motorola Setup Guide. I thought there was a "passthrough" option, but I can't be sure.

If there is not, you can put a splitter upstream of the STB and use the TV's internal analogue tuner for those channels.

There's no pass-through mode on the 6412.
1080i & 720p are your HD choices and you can change back and forth between the two depending on the channel you're watching to mimic a pass-through.
Thanks for the info. It's too much trouble to switch back and forth. I'll just leave the STB on 1080i since that's the majority of channels.
