I've had this tv for 4 months and I'm happy with it.
But there is one feature I haven't been able to take advantage of yet.
I'd like to stretch non-HD pictures to use the full screen, but none of the zoom obtions will stretch horizontally.
I use a DVI cord and have a feeling that may be the reason.
Can anyone help?

Who is your cable provider?
Comcast, Time Warner, Adelphia etc...
What cable box do they lease to you?
A motorola STB, an SA STB etc...
For the motorola you have to power off the box and press menu this brings up your settings options and you might need to change the 4:3 override to either 480I or 480P. Provide whatever info you can.
I'd like to stretch non-HD pictures to use the full screen, but none of the zoom obtions will stretch horizontally. Most HDTVs will not properly stretch incoming HD (720P, 1080i) signals. Make sure that your STB (set-top-box) is set to "pass" SD channels as 480i, so that they can be stretched by your TV.
If you have an SA STB, see the HDTV FAQ "Tips for SA STBs".

Like 57U stated "Most HDTVs will not properly stretch incoming HD (720P, 1080i) signals." Even though you were viewing non-HD channels with the 4:3 override set to off,the STB was upconverting the signal your set was receiving. Therefore not allowing you strech or ZOOM. Glad it worked out for you.
