I've tried to hook up my HP Media Center (Z545) to my JVC HD-61Z886 HD-ILA using the dvi-hdmi cable. The desktop comes up on TV for about 2seconds and then it starts to flicker every 2 seconds. I updated my (ATI x300) video drivers to catalyst 5.4 and tried the program PowerStrip, didn't work. I also tried different resolutions and made sure it was set to 60hz. Also, component to component worked, but I prefer dvi-hdmi to work (digital). Tried different Inputs on TV and made sure it was the only cable on that input, no good. Anybody have any ideas how to get it going without flickering or anybody hooked up their PC to a JVC? thks.

1. Have you tried that DVI-HDMI connection on your JVC television with any other devices?
2. Have you tried the DVI output of your HP Media Center PC on any other monitors?
3. Do you connect the television to the PC after it has been booted, or plug them up then boot the computer?

If you have, without any of the same noticable flickerings...try hooking your HTPC (Home Theater PC) up to a computer monitor via VGA cable. Under Display Settings (for the time being) set your default monitor to the VGA connection - computer monitor, and set your DVI-HDMI connection as a secondary monitor. Does that work, without flickering?

It may be that your PC needs to load/install drivers in order to properly display anything on your JVC television...which is why I suggested hooking it up with your PC monitor as the default/main monitor first.

Finally, while I have an NVidia card rather than ATI, the Advanced settings under Display Properties offer a TV Wizard - specifically for setting up a TV. (see attached photo). You might look for something similar in your ATI settings. I hope any of this can help ya out,
Dustin

So... did you ever get it working?

(Anyone else that may have gone thru the same thing is free to post :-)

Maybe this is the only way to do it?:

ATI "DVI-to-HDTV Adapter" (http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2537967).

I have exactly the same problem. I have a Media Center Z552 (ATI X300) and a JVC LT-37S60 so as you can understand, I really want to know if you manage to solve it? So please......

I don't know if this will help but I had a same problem when using the HDMI cable from my HD Terminal to JVC Tv. I disabled the 480i 480p resolutions in the terminal box and the flickering was gone.
