Does anybody know if the PS2 will be able to display full 1080i games cause I know the x-box can and I also know that the gamecube can only do 480p from what I understand but Id really like to know if the PS2 can or will.............Anybody out there feel free to gimme whatcha think or whatcha heard..

It can not do 1080. Sorry but that is what I have heard.

I think this shows there is a HD capability. I do not know if there are any games that take advantage of the HD capability. I do know you will need the component cable option if and when you obtain a HD game. It does have the ability to change ouput to 16:9 without an HD title.

I think PS2 will be releasing an ADD-ON peripheral for their console to allow it to output 1080i and 720p signals to an HDTV monitor. It's called the PS3 and you set it on the shelf where the old console once occupied space. Next, take the PS2 hardware and drop kick it off the 3rd floor of your house. The add-on peripheral should be out around 2005 and cost around $399.

THAT was funny.. yeah I agree Sony should have thought about that before they released the PS2 and from what I understand Nintendo will have an actually adapter for the Gamecube for HD but who knows if theyll actually release it..... ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY XBOX AND ITS HD ABILITIES WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
