When I power my motorola 6200 off and hit the menu key, the user settings pop-up, so far so good, but when I look down the list past TV Type, ect, ect, I get to Service selection and it states Analog CC1 but next to digtal it states no service. Everthing works but a really feel that selection should say something beside no service......Any hint if this is correct or how to change it? Also running non-sd channel thur the box is un watch-able, I watch non-sd channels via a splitter into the TV before the box. I just feel something is not right with the box, in reguards to that digital setting....... Any help would be appeciated...... :hyper:
Perhaps these instructions will be of some help?

When you say "non-sd" are you referring to HD or digital? I don't mean this to be insulting, just curious. The only way to enjoy digital or HD signals is to run component or DVI/HDMI cables from the 6200 to your set. Using the splitter as you have is good for watching "sd" only (as sometimes the digital box can make sd signals look worse).
Please let us know what happens...
He probably meant analogue (non-digital.). As per the HDTV FAQ on "Poor SD PQ".

Yes analog, i do use a splitter, but my real question is the set up in the box, as it states digital service as no.....

I have the same box, and if I'm not mistaken, that's simply the Closed Caption settings. Right? Maybe your cable provider doesn't provide closed caption for digital channels? Just thinking out loud.
How is the PQ with digital or HD channels. If it's correct then I wouldn't be concerned.
Cheers!

HD is great dig is ok...I really think in the set up of the moxi box there must be a way to change this...

Nobody has the same setup when they power off and hit the menu key, if everybody has the same then there is nothing to change, but it just seems wrong for digital to say none??? :sobbing: :mic:

OK. I have just turned the box off and pressed menu. The 'USER SETTINGS' screen appears. AFTER TV type, etc, etc is 'CLOSED CAPTION'. And, because I don't use the CC, the column on the right says 'DISABLED'. NO WHERE does it say 'ANALOG' or 'DIGITAL' on the entire page.
IF I enable the CC function I then have several more options to choose from such as 'PEN SIZE', 'FONT STYLE', 'FOREGROUND COLOR', 'FOREGROUND OPACITY' etc...
Sorry, I am just baffaled as to what you are actually seeing OR if it is indeed a Motorola 6200. Are you POSITIVE it is not another model #???

Exactly, same as mine. It is, in fact, indicating disabled, because the user has not chosen to enable it. My box does not indicate Analog or Digital either. On the back of my unit is printed DCT6200/2005.
I really don't believe this user is being denied anything.

Yes, yours is different. All I have to do is move the cursor down to CC and adjust it to "Enabled," and all the text turns black and is now adjustable. What's happening with your setup is a mystery.

Mine has neither the Service Selection nor the Analog or Digital options, so we do have differences in our set-ups. Have you called your cable provider to inquire? I would, just to settle my mind on it.
Do you require Closed Caption?
Cheers, and enjoy that HDTV.

IF it is what I am thinking, you do not subscribe to digital service. Watching "non sd" through the TV tuner leads me to believe you are not subscribing. If you are indeed subscribing, a call to your customer service department is in order.
Out of curiosity, what happens when you enable CC :sherlok: ???

I shall call them as I am paying for digital service...you do not have those settings on your box?

Don't feel stupid, that's what the forum is for. You did have your response mechanism dialed-up a bit high though. But, hey, everybody's different, and it's only my opinion anyway.
Enjoy, and keep coming back here!

Personally I would set the 4:3 OVERRIDE to 480P. Glad it all worked out  .

Really? I have a similar box, the 6412, and I much prefer setting the 4:3 override to 480i. My cable box's conversion to 480p isn't nearly as good as my tv's conversion to 960i. And if I let my set convert it to 480p, it's also nicer than the cable box's performance. Maybe it's just how my set works. I just love 480p, but not from my cable box.
Cheers!

Yessiree!
Some TV's may scale better than others. That's why we always encourage everyone to try all 'options/settings' and use what works/looks best to them.

Absolutely go with what works best for you. That is why I said "Personally".
My TV only upconverts to 1080i. That 1080i looks better being fed progressive vs. interlaced (to me). The progressive being a better signal to upconvert than the interlaced sgnal.
