Does anyone know where I can buy a HD ready LCD TV with ieee1394 ports??? How else can you use the Firewire port on the new cable STB?

The firewire ports are used for recording as mentioned by Ratman. Depending on the STB you have, these ports may or may not be enabled. For example, the firewire ports on the SA DVRs (SA8X00HD) are not enabled yet. They are enabled on the SA3250HD and on the Motorola STBs, but even there, some cable companies have "blocked" the output.

I don't believe these ports are intended for connecting to a TV, that's what the DVI/HDMI ports are for. See the HDTV FAQs:

DVI/HDMI Information
Recording HD.
