I recently picked up hd stb from BHN and receive probably six HD stations well and the other 6 are either off or pixellating real bad. I have cable running to computer and stb from a 5-1000 mhz splitter (antronics, from cable co.). I took splitter off and connected directly to stb and all HD channels are great. Any suggestions for splitter or amp?

Apparently the -3.5dB loss (from the splitter) is affecting your reception.

Is the cable going to the PC for a cable modem (internet)? If so, call the cable company and have them check the signal levels. They will either adjust or possibly provide an amp.

Or... buy your own amp:

Before I did anything for this problem, I came home one night to see on HD channels a no service screen. So called immediately and while i was on the phone everything started coming in fine, even the stations that weren't coming in well. Hopefully it will stay that way.
