My 8300hd will not let me record two channels at once.
When a change to a channel the display at the bottom of the screen says "REC" but it's not actually recording. Nothing is scheduled either. How do I get out of this? :(
Try rebooting the STB by unplugging it for a few minutes. Replug it and wait for about 1/2 hour for the reboot and the download to complete. It should work fine.
You can only "pause live TV" on one channel. Other recordings would have to be scheduled.

Reboot your box by pushing vol+, vol- and info on the front of the box at the same time. I had to reboot mine this morning in order to get something to record.

Not sure why you posted your question in two different forums, but if the reboot suggested in both doesn't work, it might be helpful if you provided more infomation, like what you are doing to start a recording, i.e., using the IPG to schedule them, or changing the channel and pressing the record button, etc.

How long does the reboot take when you do it the vol+/- way?
I'm not initiating the recording, it's hung, it's says "rec" but I'm not recording nor did I tell it to record.
