advent ht3061a major problems

I recently purchased this set at best buy, and I have several major problems,some have been mentioned in earlier posts, such as the variable brightness, wich the the low contrast fix doesnt work well for me, the picture is too washed out and dull, my major issues are that all images in 4:3 mode have severely rippled edges, they randomly convave inwards about 3/4 of an inch, I also have this problem in widescreen on everything that isnt in hd, I do get it in 4:3, hd......if thats wasnt bad enough......in hd I get highly visibale stationary verticle bars.....about 1/4 of an inch that alternate from light to dark across the entire screen.......its not too bad on hd broadcasts, certain scenes on dvds its highly noticable, and it makes some of my xbox games near unplayable, I'm planning on exchanging the set for a new one, my main worry is thats its going to have these very same issues, wich acoording to tech support they shouldnt be happening........any advice at all would be great, thanks, M.

Our two Advent 30" HT-3061A are being delivered on July 20th. We have a 60" Sony now for the main room. We picked up the 30" Advents for our bedrooms. Is your DVD player the newest progessive scan type? We are aware that we have to upgrade my Dad's to a progressive scan for better performance. These sets CRT displays are fixed at 1080i. Your main problems of the rippled edge, and other image display problems warrant the return ASAP. Let us know how you make out on the replacement? I will post a follow-up on our two sets that are coming next week. We did use our AmEx CC so the 1 year warranty is doubled to 2 years at no extra charge. Good luck! John

my solution was to get a sony wega kv30hs420, it cost a bit more,799 at best buy, but it was worth it,the difference is beyond night and day, my dvd player is a sony progressive scan, its about 8 months old, cant remember the model offhand
