JVC AV-48P575 Split Screen set up Help Needed

I just bought a JVC AV-48P575. When I try to set up the split screen, I only see static on the second screen. I can not figure out the options of v1, v2, v3, v4, game etc. Since the hdtv is on v3 the split screen will not work because v3 is already being used. Help.... I can not figure out how to get my charter hd cable to register on more than one of the options.

I'm having an issue as well with split screen (which may or may not be related). It seems that when I try to view my cable input on the left side and my xbox on the right, it works fine, but when I swap the channels, the cable signal does not come up at all. I only see the xbox on the left. Any ideas? Sorry I can't be of more help.
