Hello,

I am having Dish installed next week at my home. I am gettin the newers 625 Dual tunerl DVR for two tvs and a separate HD 811 box for my digital set. I am buying an OTA tuner to install primarily for HD locals on the digital TV.

Is it possible for me to split that antenna and have it run to the 625 DVR as well? if so, would that unit allow me to record off the local (non HDTV) channels, thus allowing me to drop the local channels from Dish (saves 5$ a month).

No No dish rec. will record OTA analog, the 921 and 942 will record HD from OTA.
Why are you getting STB when the 811 has one built in for HD OTA

Clarification, The 921 and the 942 will record digital OTA. The 625 should record analog OTA as it has an input for an antenna or cable line.
