Hello,

I`ve a question about hooking up this LCD-tv with a Denon DVD-1910 dvd-player.

The LCD-tv supports Progressive Scan. It`s maximum resolution is 1280x768. And it has a DVI-D input, and it has a DCDi HDTV scaler aboard.

The Denon dvd-player supports Progressive Scan, and has got a Faroudja DCDi HDTV scaler aboard. And it has a DVI-D output terminal.

So, after installing all of the equipment, I switched the tv to the DVI input, and switched the dvd-player on. No signal!, appeard on the screen.

Ok, that was my bad, the manual clearly states: in order to activate the DVI output on the dvd-player, you must set an output resolution. (480p/576P, 720p or 1080i). Well, I needed 720p for my screen, so I switched the output resolution to 720p. Still no signal! Then I tried 480p, and again, no signal. By accident I`d set it to 1080i, and the dvd menu appeard on the screen, but it was flickering, because my screen didn`t support that kind of signal.

Then I connected the dvd-player with a RGB-scart cable to the screen, and it worked just great.

So I connected my pc with a DVI-D cable to the screen, and it worked just great.

So I took the dvd-player back to my retailer, and they hooked it up to both a Hitachi lcd-tv and a Pioneer lcd-tv, and it gave a high quality 720p signal to both of them! (they used my DVI-D cable, so it`s not broken).

What is going on here? I can`t seem to figure it out?

My tv support progressive scan, 1280x768 resolution, DCDi and DVI-D input.
The Denon dvd-player support: progressive scan, 720p, DCDi and DVI-D output.

I`ve contacted LG, and they said that I must use the component input on the tv. But I said that there is none present! Only RGB-scart, S-video, DVI-D and DSUB15. So that wasn`t very helpfull....

Any ideas on this?

Thank you all, for your time!!

Greetz,

Arjan
