Hi,
I upgraded my Comcast cable yesterday with a DCT12 DVR. I was able to record stuff no problem, but when I wanted to set it up to record Late Night with Conan, int he guide area it just said 'To Be Announced' (on the hi-def channel for NBC - 806 for where I live). Now, I had a couple of thoughts about this:
1. it does that because it's on late at night, where what's airing isn't as important as what comes on during prime time
2. it's doing that because Conan is in reruns this week

Can anyone tell me why it says this, and if this is normal or common?

Thanks.

Did you check it this morning? It usually takes several hours for the DVR to initially download all the guide info.

No, I should have. I will definitely check it tonight. However, from the time that it was installed till last night was somewhere around 8 hours.

When you first install the STB or when you have to do a hard reset (unplugging for a few minutes) it will show that on the guide. The initial setup seems to take longer than the reset, but it still usually takes a couple of hours to totally populate.

That sounds a bit long, but I still would bet that it will be fine when you get home. If not, call Comcast. This is probably one of those things that customer service can fix via cable line while they have you on the phone.
