I am looking at a cable that is a dvi(M) to component as a solution for hooking my comp up to my hdtv. Is this type (M) of dvi connection compatible with the standard video vard dvi? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

DVI to component cables do not exist!! Now they do make VGA to component and DVI to HDMI but what you are looking for is not available!
