The Yamaha DPX-1 that sold for $10,000 has a worthlessDVI input. The DPX-1 despite its high price is not upgradable and the DVI input will not recognize the dvi output from your HD receiver or Sat. HD receiver. I contacted the president co Yahama Video products and they said sorry how about buying a new model??? Yeah, I have a shoe box of money just doing nothing.
I would avoid all Yamaha projectors as they do not stand behind their products.

I would guess that the DVI input is not HDCP compatible?
That would be only reason that I can percieve. (I looked at the specs from a site and it said it was DVI-D, so it's digital).
I'm sure that with some 'friendly' discussion, they may be able offer an exchange/upgrade, if you really need DVI/HDCP.

Digital devices require a handshake; it could be on either end. Check your menus to make sure you're set up correctly, looking for the right signals.
