Does this model have a way to possibly better the picture? I have heard people talk about convergence before, but can't find where it is. I have tried to change the detail, but it doesn't appear that that does anything. What value should the DETAIL be set to? It goes from -30 to 30 with the factory setting being 0.

Thanks.

Convergence is pretty much for CRT's.
While there might be a static convergence, it is in the service menu and if you have had no experiance there I wouldn't go there.

Are you sure you aren't talking about CA?;

I also notice no difference in the detail (sharpness setting), so I was told to turn it all the way down on an HD tv's because it puts fake edges on images. Are you not satisfied with the Picture? I will say that my HD picture seemed to get much better after viewing the TV for a while. I'm not sure if there is some kind of warm up or break in time for a TV to look it's best, but I was not overly impressed right away when I bought mine. However, now I think It is an amazing HD picture - the best I have seen on a Fixed display. I am no expert on this, maybe someone else could offer a better explanation to why my picture seemed to get better. I do know that it was not my eyes getting used to the picture because I had a CRT HD tv and the Picture was better in that, but now my JVC looks just as good.

I did use the AVIA calibration DVD for optimum color, brightness settings etc... I would reccomend using something like that.
