I currently have the 3 lnb oval dish. I have been thinking about adding an HD DVR. I am aware that I have to run another line out to the dish but the question is: How do I connect this extra line to the dish??? Is there some sort of special connector that is used???

If you have the newer style Phase III dish with the multiswitch built in, it has 4 outputs, remove the two screws holding the LNB unit to the end of the arm and pull it out, you'll see the addtional connectors. If you are already using all 4, you would need a 4x8 multiswitch to give you addtional outputs.
