SA8300HD Component Video RED!!!

Had to replace the SA 8300HD box yesterday. Picked up another one from the cable company. When hooking up the Component Video to my Mitsu 52725 set I get a severly red picture. The S Video picture is fine. I went thru the process of swapping cables & inputs to make sure there were no problems with the tv (there isn't). And yes I checked to make sure I had the right color plug in the right connector. If I use the HDMI connector that works fine also.

The first box (8300HD) I had when I got it I could actually hook up both the HDMI & Component Video outputs at the same time so I could compare signals on my set if I wanted. Somewhere down the line they must have made a software upgrade as now on the old & new box when you plug in the HDMI cable it kills the Component Video output.

With all that said is there a setting in the SA8300HD box that would affect how the Component Video out works?

Trying to avoid having the cable compay come to the house.

You've pretty much isolated the problem to the component cables. Try another one. Maybe yours went bad?

I'd really double and triple-check how well the cables are fitted into the STB and the TV. I've had that problem before and it's usually just the cables not seating properly. If it's definitely not that, then most likely cables.

I remember having this problem when I first hooked-up my component video cables. I think it is a set-up function in the SA8300HD. I remember having to "tell" the 8300 that I was using component video output, as it defaults to composite video out of Ybr.
