Do they make an outdoor antenna yet that supports HDTV AND mounts to a sattelite dish? If not, is there a reason for this, It seams it would be a very convinient way to mount an HD antenna and not look to tacky.

Can anyone recomend a good indoor antenna that might work in a basement? I have had a terk HD antenna mounted in the attick of my garage and my HD signal always cuts in and out and I cant seam to get all the OTA HD channels either. I live in Minneapolis so Im not to far from any towers.

First, any old analog antenna will work with HDTV signals, there are no special antenna for HDTV, its just marketing tactics.

Clip on antennas that mount on a dish are usually quite ineffective.

The best option is a traditional antenna. Fortunately, many digital channels are UHF and therefore use smaller antennas that don't look very 'tacky'

Check www.antennweb.org for distance/direction and channel assignments. Cut and paste the results here and we can provide some recommendations.

If all your digital locals are in the UHF band and under like 30-35 miles, check out the Square Shooter line, they look nice mounted with a dish..

I had that mounted that way for about a year, just took it down, I'm 40 miles from my locals and it was having problems during the summer with drop outs so I upgraded to a ChannelMaster 4228.

When I first setup HDTV, I found that my plain old rabbit ears (and it was missing the UHF loop) worked better than the Terk TV5 that I had gotten with my tuner.

Though, I currently use a Silver Sensor.

Just wanted to thank all of you for your help. I would have responded sooner but I was unable to log in for about 1 week. I tried a few different antenna styles and nothing worked very well, kept dropping signal. Im on day 2 with the TERK square antenna like one of the members above recomended and it's been working great. Thanks again
