Help -- HDTV or HDTV monitor

Hello,
I am a new person. I have a Samsung HDTV and it needs to be replaced. I have a service agreement with the place I purchased it. Since it is an older model they cannot replace it with the same model. They have decided to replace it with a HDTV Monitor. What is the difference between a HDTV and an HDTV Monitor?

If they advertise correctly...
An HDTV has a built in HD tuner (usually over the air (OTA) and some also will decode digital cable)

HDTV Ready/Capable/Monitor/etc requires and external tuner (OTA. cable or satellite).

What model Samsung do you have now and does it have an ATSC tuner built in?
