So I got a new one today and it has a overscan issue. I'm not sure on Sony set's how to work in the service menu and what I need to select to correct the overscan.

I know exactly the right tweak it's called HSIZ and VSIZ in the service menu.
To enter it,first make sure the tv is off then press "Display" "5" "Volume+" "Power"
to navigate press the 1 and 4 number keys on the remote,to change the values press 3 and 6.To save a setting once you fixed it and are satisfied press "Muting" then "Enter" the words "WRITE" in red should appear in the upper right hand corner if it saved.
Then when your done and want to exit the service menu press "Power" to turn the tv then turn the tv back on.
VSIZ is for vertical size, and HSIZ is for Horizontal size.
What problems are you having by the way,is things being cutt off on the sides? If so use HSIZ only since if you use VSIZ and lower it, "Wide zoom" stretch mode will look stretched like full for 4:3 material, and it will screw up letterboxed material making the black bars bigger.

The VSIZ worked pretty well, but now it seems like I need to move the picture over to the left more. How do I move the picture from left to right vertically?

Look for HPOS or VPOS

Just found it after I posted it lol.
Anytime you play with horizontal size and vertical size be sure to check the final
aspect ratio you have created. Its easily done with the THX optimizer found on a lot
of DVDs using the circle test pattern. I use a tape measure and verify and adjust
until the circles height and width are measurably identical...Its better to have a little
more overscan one way or the other if you have to than to have the final aspect ratio visibly incorrect.....
