I was about to buy a new receiver, but the news of Dolby TruHD doesn't make me happy, 'cause now I either have to 1. wait or 2. see my brand new becomes an "outdated" item as early as the end of the year or beginning of next year?!!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel that outdated without having a THX-certified receiver.
This news just makes me want to buy one of the receivers that will be on closeout because it doesn't have TrueHD

If you're always waiting for the next best thing that's just around the corner, you'll be holding on to your receiver for a long time.
The other day I had a DVD that I was backing up at home and I noticed that it had an 8-channel audio track, is this the same thing, or something different?
