I am going to be calling Sony soon to have somebody sent out to my house to hopefully work with the geometry on my TV, but there is one thing I would like to try to correct right now as it's bothering me a little.

On one side of the screen, the picture seems to be slighting going downwards. Like if you were to look at a straight line with this problem, at one end of the line you would notice it was slightly going a little down at one spot on it.

Sounds more like a trigonometry problem to me.

Really, what are you talking about? Are you saying the picture isn't lined up with the screen?

It's so hard to describe without a example picture.

Say I'm watching a video and you can see the 2 black widescreen bars. Now picture the box where all the video is playing in and if you looked at the top and bottom they would be straight lines. Well, on one side of the screen it's slightly slanted. Not by a major degree, but it's to the point where I can notice it.

Is there an option in the "user menus" for tilt?

Yeah, but it's not a tilt issue.

Here's a picture example of what I'm talking about...

Let us know what they do. With a CRT it is likely a mechanical adjustment possibly magnets, etc.
I remember seeing something similar to a very small extent when watching widescreen movies on my 36" Wega. It is slight enough to not bother me. Besides, the set is in BR and rarely gets any DVDs played through it anymore.
There are a lot of geom. adj. in the service menu for linearity, etc. but nothing will make a difference if it's not straight line (not necessarily level) to start with.. if that makes any sense.

i had the same problem with my kd-34xbr960. when the tech came out to look at it, he said that crt televisions are like that and it's something that can't be fixed. sony said the same thing. the tech also said that tv's like this aren't really made to watch something that isn't in wide screen.
