Hi All,

I have my XBox running through my Sony KV-HS510 using Microsoft-brand Component Video Cables--when I set my XBox to display at anything higher than 480p and then try to play a game that supports either 720 or 1080, I lose a considerable amount of the screen size (2-3 inches on every side). Is there any way to stop this and/or make it better? Is there a piece of equipment that I missing from my setup?

Thanks so much for any help--this is the first place I turned, as it looks like this group is the "leading authority" for anything involving HDTV.

Hi,

Are you setting all three drop down boxes? I use the same TV for XBOX and I set all the drop down boxes to yes (480p,720p,1080i). Also what game are you playing???

Thanks for the reply!

I just turned all the drop-down boxes to "yes" and left the screen setting at "Normal"--it manages to stretch the picture all the way to the left and right of the screen, but I still have 2-3 inch black areas along the top and bottom of the picture. Is this normal for this TV? I'm playing X-Men Legends 2, which supports up to 720p, and I'd like the image to take up the whole screen. Otherwise, it looks like I'll have to "settle" for 480p. Either way, the picture on this set is awesome, and has totally sold me on Sony TV's; now, if I only had the $ for one of their XBR models...
