I came here because you folks are so knowledgable.
My question regarding DRC is if it is used for ONLY video. I see mention of lower resolution rates, as well. Will my set only allow me to use this function to effect lower resolutions. Normally, when I attempt to access this function in my menu, it is greyed out.

It's only for 480i as noted in post #6 (from the link provided above) and reinforced for the PDF attachment in post #11 (note the "blue" area) from the same link.
