If I change a setting in service mode for an overscan problem on HD will this affect the 480i and p or say upconverted 720? The overscan problem only shows up on HD signals and not 480i and p. This is on a kv 420hs30. Any help will be appreciated.

P.S. and if anyone would be good enough to tell me the service mode code for this tv and how to change these setting it would be much appreciated also. Thanks.

Sorry to bust up this riviting discussion but I found out that the overscan only occurs when my TV is upconverting 720p to 1080i. This is no big deal to me as I will look at as a normal occorrence of my TV. I don't want to cause more problems than I have now. After searching for topics on this I can see there are a lot of "Ricky technisions" that have screwed up their TV's by going into the service mode. Thanks anyway guys! :)

For 480i and p signal overscan is the same, for HD resolutions it is seperate adjust HSIZ,and VSIZ in the service menu for overscan, and adjust HPOS and VPOS to center the picture properly.

Thanks man! Somehow the thought of ME doing anything in the service mode just scares me. I just don't want to do anything I'll regret later as I have a record of doing that. How easy is it to do this and is it safe?

Write everything down and read up before you go into the service mode.
