I'm in the market and reading everything I can find on this site. These 2 tvs look awesome on paper (internet). I went to circuit city and the people there were dumb, I asked them to show me comparisons for those 2 tvs and they told me very wrong things about burn in.

Sony kdfe42a10 lcd projection
and sony KD34XBR960 crt.

Does anyone own either of these two and could let me know if you have any regrets. I know stores are sh!tty places to tell what the tv can do. The kdfe42a10 looked very dim in the store, but was that the setup or can that tv not handle light well, such as light from windows or lamps.

I was almost sure I wanted the kfe42a10, so some input would help a lot.
Gamer input a definite plus!
Thank you

Well between the two I think you would like the 42! I just upgraded about month ago. I went from a regular Sony 57inch RR to the KDFE50A10 and all I can say is that it rocks. Its got a "Game Mode" setting on it for those who like to play console games. I have not tried it out due to I'm more into PC Games. But I have been thinking about getting a PS3 when they come out. Overall I think this model would be best plus it's a new model that has just came out. Either way you can got wrong but with the 42 you might just get a little more for your money. If you have HD Service HD Rocks on the set which you will enjoy. I recommend Dish Network for HD they just bought Voom and my next year they will have over 30 channels of HD not including your locals. Right now they have about 15 channels in HD you add your local makes it about 19. Again good luck let us know what you get happy gameing!

Well dont be surprised that the PQ does not look any better with the plasma and they have more of a issue with Burn in. Also most tech places charge more to work on them biggest thing that you save with plasma is space.
