Hooked up a friends the other day. Installed his dvd and cable hd box using component cables on video4 and video5. He is getting a green stripe about 3 inches wide that scrolls up an down the screen slowly. This happens on both inputs (DVD and cable box). The set is 7 days old. He wants to take it back. Do you guys have any idea?

Man sorry to hear that! I have the same set now for about 3 months with no problems and love it. Sounds like their is something internal with the set so if he has only had it for 7 days have him exchange with a another one. Probally was something wrong with it before hand maybe drop or just happen to get a defect one which is rare. But if it was me I will exchage it for another one should be fine.
Try connecting the cable directly to the "ANT" input and see if you get the "scrolling green bar" on that input too, when watching analogue cable. If you do, that pretty well clinches it.
You could also try a composite, or S-video connection from the STB and/or the DVD player. If it doesn't happen there, it could be an issue with the component cables, or the component inputs on the TV...
