I'm at a dilemna here. I can buy either a 50' Samsung DLP or a 50' Sony Grand Wega LCD for $1,999 (they are both on sale). Of course in the store the DLP's screen looks so much brighter, and the colors look much better than the LCD.
Currently, I own a 57' Hitachi S series and it's super nice so I haven't been around this forum much lately. I don't want to get burn in on it from video games so I've decided to buy a new tv.
I will be buying this tv for video game purposes mainly (I don't want to have to worry about burn in).
Are either 1080p? I would like to be ready for the future if HDTV does broadcast in 1080p.
Which has a brighter, more colorful picture? I've always read LCDs do, but am wondering if DLP has caught them over the past couple of years.
Have DLP and LCD technology been improving the past couple of years? Brighter picture, more colorful, just better overall technologies is what I'm wondering...
