Apologies for barging in w/o getting to know the place first. I'm running against a time limit on a return though so I'm hoping to get an answer quickly ;)

I recently purchased an Oppo upscaling/regionless DVD player and tried to hook it to the Sony via input #6. It didn't work :( One issue is possibly the fact the Oppo has a DVI output and I had to use a DVI-HDMI cable. Since it's noted in the manual for the TV that it won't work to connect a DVI PC to the HDMI I'm thinking maybe whatever signal is coming from the Oppo is similar enough to that that it is being ignored. On the other hand, one thing I've notced is the fact as I cycle through the inputs input #6 never shows up. So hitting the Video button takes me from tuner, #1 - #5 and then back to tuner, whether or not there is an actual signal coming through at the moment (aka I never have anything plugged into the side [#2] but it still shows up as a black screen). Should #6 be in the cycle? I looked through the book and the menus and didn't see any obvious way to activate it so my assumption was it isn't in the mix until there is a signal there. Is that correct?

TIA

If your Sony channel menu is anything like my Sony (KDF-55XS955), you should be able to change what inputs you can see as you cycle through with the TV/Video button. My system has 8 inputs but I can fix the TV to show only the ones I have in use. Your TV will even allow you to label each input for the type of device that is attached.

Perhaps your TV currently has input #6 turned off or set up to be skipped over. You would need to turn it on through the Label Video Inputs menus so it becomes active.

I'm no expert but I would start there.

 :hyper: That was it... I guess at some point in the past I had turned it off (or it came off automatically) and I had forgotten about it :Party6: thx

No sweat. Even a blind squirrel (me) finds a nut once in a while.
