View Full Version : 60in sony LCD with light spot in the screen.

When my TV is off there appears to be a faded area about 6inches wide by 18 inches tall in the center of my screen.. When the tv is on there is no notice of this spot. my warranty runs out this dec, is this somthing that should be looked at?

oh yeah, tv is 11 months old...
This is likely just an internal reflection caused by the ambient light in the room. If the room is dark do you see the "area"?

Funny you ask.I work 2nd shift and im never home in the dark except week-ends. and on week-ends im watching sports all night.I will look tonight.
The TV is in a very bright room so its probably what you are talking about.

I have a similar problem with my 60XBR950 and after closer checking have found that it is dust on the inside of the screen. Like your situation, I don't see this when the set is on, only when off. At first, I also thought it was a reflection from something in the room. I contacted Sony and there advice was to have it serviced but decided against it for the time being. I don't know if this is the same thing you've described but, maybe it is.

I sure hope its nothing major, i love the set.
