I have owned the Mitzi for about 3 years now - haven't had any trouble, but I have never used the HDTV aspect of the TV until now.

That's where the trouble lies.

I just purchased an Xbox 360 yesterday, and hooked up the component video cables to the "DTV 420p - 1080i" component video input section of the TV.

I added an "OTHER" category to the input menu and referenced the DTV inputs.

THE PROBLEM: I can run the Xbox in 420p mode only. Whenever I select either the 720 or 1080 modes on the Xbox, the TV completely scrambles up. The Xbox works well on another (newer) TV in HD mode, so I know it isn't the unit.

That crappy NetCommand interface won't allow me to choose resolution (that I am aware of). So I am dead in the water for the time being. I was told the TV can handle HDTV of up to 1080i, since it is a CRT-based type TV, but this TV is not going for it.

Did I miss something? Is there an esoteric setting that I couldn't find in that clumsy menu? I know the TV is a bit old (couldn't find any posts on that model newer than 2003) but I am hoping someone can help!

First it's 480p not 420p.

Try going into your TV menu and changing the input of the signal from RBGHV to YPrPb...

It should be under INPUT ASSIGNMENT....

Also I have the WS-88519 and they don't do 720p... You have to use 1080i....
