I have my tv manual, but my wife just bought a memorex mvd2042 dvd player that is not listed in my 2001 tv manual.Any ideas on how to program it since it provides no auto program option. Any help is appreciated.

If the general Memorex DVD code doesn't work, you can try calling customer support and seeing if they have an updated code listing for newer products.

Most remotes also have a feature that allows you to scan through all the frequencies. Check the operating manual portion for the remote. TV remotes are usually pretty useless.
You may want to consider a programmable remote like the Harmony. Take one for a virtual test drive on their site.
