How bad ia Mintek?? I may have made a mistake.

Hello again. I did something I normally dont do, but I was at a Costco today picking up some groceries and they had a 26" MINTEK lcd tv on sale for $699, that caught my eye. Then I noticed they had one w/ an open box for an additional $100 off, makin it $599. I took the bait, thinkin I made a decent buy, but I came to this site immediately after getting home, and cant find a single post on this brand. I hooked it up, and it works great, really nice picture, but I'm concerned it may be some one hit wonder import, that wont last long. Has anyone ever heard of them, or had one?? I did notice it is very hot after an hour of use. Is this normal? Thanks for any input!!

It's an 'off-brand', but hey... it's a TV at a good price.
Try it out and I'm sure if you don't like it or get 'cold feet', it can be returned.

I'm not a Costco member, but I've heard from members that they'll take back items (including electronics) long after purchase date. A co-worker told me he took back a tv after a couple years :wow: So, give that TV a good workout.

Thanks guys. I gotta say it has been performing well. I'm not one to buy cheap things, have everything else in my home theater top of the line stuff, but needed a lil one for a bedroom. Kids have been watchin DVDs on it non stop, and I just hooked up an old Mitsu HD500 receiver I had lying around and must say the picture looks great!!!
