View Full Version : Mitsubishi WT-42311, a lemon?

I bought a Mitsubishi WT-42311 42" projection TV, It wasn't 2 weeks before it started shutting itself off after pressing the power button on the remote. I called the service and he supposedly repaired it after taking "out" some parts. Naturally the tv did not function, and they came out again to repair the TV. They stated they would have to order parts, which would take two weeks. On the third trip out and three weeks later, they replaced the "malfunctioning part". The TV still did not work. I informed the Store that I had purchased the TV from, they replaced the TV, with a reconditioned one. Now one and half years later, guess what, a busted Television, same symptoms. I sure hope it doesn't cost much to repair. Does this happen frequently with Mitsubishi's?

I'm on my 2nd Mits. (55315) & have had good luck........so far. But I have heard of others having problems with them. I don't if proportionately they've been more prone to problems than other brands.
From what I read on these posts and my own personal experience, yes apparently it does.

I moderate a snowmobile website. So with that in mind I won't say Mits is a bad company. All I can relate is my experience... My WS 48511 died on my after 2.5 years. I am not happy, but I have tried to voice my displeasure with Mits and perhaps it spilled over into this forum. For that I apologize. I intended to come here seeking answers/help. That's what I feel these forums are for solutions/ answers and a way to share common passions...Good luck and I hope Mits resolves things to your satisfaction..
