I have a Mitsubishi HD 1080i wt46807. And the two bars at the top of the screen look like someone is pinching them together. The image is real wide at the sides of the screen and almost touching towards the center. How do if fix this! In desparate need. Thank you

I dint have an answer, but nine started doing it just now as I turned it on. I have no picture, just a blue screen with the top and bottom third pinching together in the middle. There is also a rainbow in the middle. Mine is an 46805
If these are CRT-based RPTVs, the convergence ICs (or the board) may be shot. See the sticky thread on Convergence problems at the top of the Hitachi forum.

Update:
Now the relay "clicks" and we now have no picture at all. Just the relay clicking....
I just had the annual service three weeks ago....(No it isn't under the warranty any-longer.)
I called the tech who cleaned it, and am waiting for his call.

The service tech just left and the diagnosis is not good.
It all started with a bent picture, then the set would not fully power up,just clicking sound. The last step was it would not even power up.
He came out and found the first problem. One of the guns had a coolant leak through the vent hole which shorted out one board. He cleaned the coolant and did a few tests.Now the tv is not going into the high voltage stage, so the guns cant power up.
It needs a main board :mecry:
I am so bummed!!
He is going to see if the parts are available, but being 6 years old it might be time to move on.
