i have my 360 set up on my RCA 52" widescreen in 1080i format and ive noticed the left and right sides of the screen are blurry. like 2 inches from the edge. its blurry like where it would be a grey vertical bars on the side like watching nfl network in HD.
i had a best buy tech come and fix the convergence on the bulbs today and he fixed some of the issues but on the xbobx its still kind of blurry.
is there any other settings on my 360 i can change or just stay at 480p or something like that. i cant go to 780p.
or anyone have some other thoughts.

I've had a similar issue with the exact same television and the XBOX 360:
When I'm in 1080i I can't see the sides of the picture at all. It's similar to (but not) looking at a 16:9 image on a 4:3 television - in other words, the image is wider than the screen. I noticed this in games where you have a speedometer or some other type of HUD item and it's only 3/4 on the screen.
I can not make a change to the resolution or zoom when in 1080i on component input.
I've called RCA and they have no resolution.
Any ideas?

lloydgm,
You probably need some geometry adjustments to resolve. If your set is under warranty, call for service/adjustment.
Those that have access to the service menus can sometimes perform the adjustement(s) themselves. Others have attempted the same adjustments and hosed the set completely.

I have the D52W23 also, and just got FarCry and it looks awesome, I do not have any of the problems stated above, although Im sure I am not immune to them either... if I set the 360 to output 720p, I get 3 verticle screens that you cant see jack with, but when I switch the 360 to 1080i, it is crystal clear...
for my TV, under advance picture settings:
I un-checked "autoformat"
3:2 Pulldown set to advanced
It plays 1080i just fine, maybe it will help others?
