Alright so here is my problem. I have a Samsung HD Projection TV not sure of the model sorry but it is HD Colorstream. ANyways, I hooked up my XBOX 360 to it and it is set for HDTV ont he cable. NOW
When I go into 480p it works fine, no problems. Then 720p it goes to a black screen I cant see anything, then 1080i it works BUT it is a little to big for my screen. The top is cut off just slightly, the picture is to big for my screen.
I really know nothing about HD but Ive tryed to find out what it was and dont have a clue. Any help would be great, THANKS!
Welcome to HDTVoice.
The model of the TV would be helpful for looking up the manual.
Anything at this point would be a guess. I don't have a Samsung TV or an Xbox.
What do you have the Xbox output set to? I'm guessing it can be either 720p or 1080i. It is possible that the TV doesn't accept 720p. Some do and simply convert it to 1080i.
Do you have one of the stretch modes engaged in the TV? That could be the cause of the picture being too large.
I'd set the Xbox to 1080i and check the display mode on the TV. I'd cycle through the display modes but if you have a FULL or 16:9 mode I'm betting that one should look ok.
The FAQ on Stretch Modes doesn't have Samsung TVs listed, but here it is anyway.

Perhaps some of the gamers can be of more help when they log on later.

Beacuse your TV only accepts 1080i, use that. as for the oversize picture yopu need to do some geometry corrections. Since you said "colorstream" I am guessing that you have a Toshiba???
