I just got a monitor (dell 2405fpw). This has DVI connections, as well as component, and it does not support hdcp. The HDTV satellite receiver I plan to get (Expressvu 6120) has both DVI and component connections, and uses hdcp. Will I still be able to get HDTV on my monitor through the component video connections? Does hdcp only apply to the DVI connector?
Thanks.
1. Will I still be able to get HDTV on my monitor through the component video connections?
2. Does hdcp only apply to the DVI connector?1. Yes.
2. Yes, DVI and HDMI.
Have you considered getting the 9200 DVR instead? People love their DVRs.

I have a follow-up question.
Do ATSC Set Top Boxes with an HDMI output generally employ HDCP?

All HDMI is HDCP compliant.
