Basically, I'm looking for content that is mostly visual. In the past I've seen things like CGI animations, virtual aquariums and similar but I just went looking at my local video stores and couldn't find a THING. I've seen some pretty cool stuff on big screens at clubs too.. Where do these guys get this stuff? I'm stumped.
Anyone have any inspirations, or better yet, TITLES to suggest?

I'm definately not interested in theatrical movies. The DTS demo might be along that line, but I think the term I was looking for might be "Ambient Video" or something...
examples I found on Amazon.com:
Fractal Plasma Fishtank
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009OPPS4
Ambient Art
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002D1252/
Fun View TV
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006FM6GU/
The only problem is, reading the reviews of some of these things, HDTV owners were complaining about near-vhs quality. Hopefully some of you have some good suggestions.

How about the following:

Not sure if the Roku art pack can be played without their media player

As a side note………………You are going to need a Windows Media Player/setup if you want to display the images in true HD.

What about demo HD-DVD's?
I passed by the Dell TV's in the mall. The guy says: "You're watching 1080i from this High definition DVD!!!". I give him a puzzled look (obviously, HD-DVD is not yet available). He then quickly clarifies and says:
"Oh, well this is a demo encoded in 1080i; the reason it fits on a regular DVD is because it's only like 5 minutes long".
I'm definetly still a newb, but are these things available on ebay or something? I guess the question is if there is anyway possible I can get a 1080i and/or 720p signal on a conventional DVD, and play it on a conventional DVD player?
Yes, there are several HD-DVDs available that can be played via a computer. There's also a Chinese DVD Player that'll play a few special titles.
There are some demos available for download too. You can probably record about 1 hour to a regular DVD.

Go to hdclips.net for true HD MPEG downloads.

These two sites have many hd+ images, makes a pretty cool screen saver as slide shows. And you can tell everyone they're real :)

Aliens of the Deep by Disney
Verticle Limit was nice
Also at bestbuy they have a marine life CD about venemous sea life and sharks thats awsome
Recent animated films like "The incredibles" look pretty awesome on DVD as demos. Also some of the IMAX DVDs look really good for film sourced DVDs. The digitally recorded & produced Star Wars III : ROTS is also stunning looking DVD. Good luck..
