I was thinking of buying a bulb for my Samsung DLP just so I have it on hand when my current bulb goes out. I can't really find anywhere that has a bulb for my TV. I have the Samsung HLR6178 1080P model. Is this TV to new to have a bulb out for it or what? I would like to find a good place online to buy my bulb. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. Thanks

I would be very leary of buying ANY bulbs from non professional
sources if packaging isnt sealed because its the kind of thing where somebody could buy a new bulb, stick the old one in the remaing box and try to sell it off as "new" when it isnt. Look for a seal or something...

Many 'professional sources' sell on EBay. Although, one must be careful and verify that they are 'reputable'.

How would you know that the box is 'sealed or something...' unless you've already purchased and received it?

Many items are sold on ebay as "factory sealed" and it's stated as such in the description BEFORE you bid on, buy it, or get it. DVDs for example are commonly sold this way but I have no idea how these bulbs are packaged from the factory and if there is even any way to know for sure if its really a new bulb just from the package.

Nor does anyone... so your 'word of caution' although good cannot be verified until after the purchase and the materials are received. Then it may be too late.

Caveat Emptor.

I will be ordering from Samsungparts.com this time around. I just feel more comfortable getting the bulb from there.

I dont understand, if there is no sealing on the package, how is getting it in hand going to be able to tell you anything more than the listing did. you still
wont know if its really a new bulb...
