When it is not in use, the screen must be turned off or the pattern must be frequently changed by a screen saver. If it displays the same pattern for a long period of time, brightness down/image sticking may develop due to the LCD structure.

Sounds like burn in... I also read it uses some kind of thing from plasma for something... lol I read it somewhere on that site.

See the HDTV FAQ on Burn In. LCDs cannot burn in, however, if they are severely abused, they can have greyscale degredation. For normal home use this is not a concern.

My LCD had a slight burn-in of my ReplayTV logo but it eventually went away.

Well... I was wondering bc I was going to do alot of gameing on the new Sharp 32 inch that comes out in May. It uses LCD a-si TFT and if there burn in or anything that sucks... it like what if I was a sniper in some game for like 30 mins or a hr.?

I am moshly a run in guy anyways but just sayin lol. I prolly be gameing on the tv like 5 hrs. to like 10 or more aday (maybe). So I hope theren o burn in or anything bc that wrong when ya spend so must money on a tv that suppose to be great.

No need to worry, It seems to me it would be very hard to play any game 5- 10 hours, Even as a sniper. First of all no game last more than 10- 15 minutes before it would end and you are back in the lobby. This would be changing the screen view thus eliminating a static picture.

By abused I mean leaving it on 24/7 with the same channel with a ticker/logo...

Most people occasionally change the channel and watch different things and watch TV for 3-6 hours say.

Well what I freakin meant was every game haves like a ton of stuff on the screen always. And I be like playing a game for 5 to 15 hrs. or so.

You know... like the hub where there's everything on the screen always and fps games it shows your hands and a gun always and texts and shows how much ammo you got left etc. etc. etc..

I just dont want to get it from playing a game jsut for that many of hrs.. If so I might as well go with a freakin crt 30 inch or so. Yeah lines are seeable on thos fers (short for you know...).

I know what you mean. There has been over a 200 hours of Halo 2 displayed on my TV- NOT FROM ONLY ME , but from my kids and there friends. NO damage on my CRT- which much more likely to display burn than a LCD.

:headb: Lol. Yeah I know crt is no.1 for burn in lol and 2# be plasma. I know what I'm going to buy.

MY dad and mom always have's the big 51 inch Sony crt projection tv on always and it never gets burn in so it nto a big deal.
