Hi Everyone. I'm hoping you guys can help this poor bassturd out. I'm trying to cram and learn all I can about HDTV. I have everything hooked up and all I need now is a signal. My zip is 92126. 2nd from last column is miles away. I chose the worst case scenario on antennaweb.

* red - uhf KSWB-DT 5.1 WB SAN DIEGO CA 128° 19.2 mi 19
* red - uhf XETV-DT 6.1 FOX TIJUANA MX 155° 29.1 23
* red - uhf KNSD-DT 39.1 NBC SAN DIEGO CA 128° 19.2 40
* red - uhf KPBS-DT 15.1 PBS SAN DIEGO CA 127° 19.1 30
* red - uhf KGTV-DT 10.1 ABC SAN DIEGO CA 217° 8.1 25
* red - uhf KFMB-DT 8.1 CBS SAN DIEGO CA 217° 8.1 55

I went ahead, before I knew what the heck I was doing, and bought a Zenith Silver Sensor that does not seem to pick up anything.

I live in a condo complex with HOA nazis so anything outdoor might be difficult. I was looking at the DB2 and hoping to use it somewhere inside like my loft. Is this crazy talk? I need some major help. Please tell me I can get HDTV or I just might cry :sobbing:

Pleeeease! Thanks guys!

If the SvS antenna didn't work, then all you can try is the Radio Shack 15-1880.

If that doesn't work... then your only options are:
an outdoor antenna
cable

You need a line of sight to the x-mitters for best results and you have 'em in three different directions.

Please don't cross-post (duplicate has been removed). Thanks!

The best indoor antenna you can get for a price is the Radio Shack 15-624 double bow-tie antenna. It's cheap, and I have found that it's more effective than the silver sensor in tough indoor situations. Because of the fact that Dan Diego has it's transmitters scattered all over the place, expect to have to turn any antenna that you buy to pick up all of the channels. You can easily attach a longer piece of coax cable to the 15-624 (it comes with a shortpiece of 300 ohm ribbon cable attached to it) and I have found that it's the best $15.00 you can spend for digital TV. Many people also like the AntennasDirect DB2, which can also be loft-mounted, but it's quite a bit more expensive.

:bow:

Thanks for the advice and sorry about the other post. It was a desperate time in my life that I'd like to forget...

I will definitely try those radio shack antennas and then the DB2 if all else fails.

Pleeeease work...
<crosses fingers>
