I want it all...but thru component.

Hi all.

I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm looking at a new DVD player but I want an upconverter that also plays DivX AND that can upconvert thru component. My Sony is an older model TV that has only component connections but it can display 1080i signals thru component.

I looked at the Toshiba SD4980 Upconverter DivX DVD Player, but it only upconverts thru HDMI. Does any one know any keying sequence that will let it upconvert thru component?

Look at the Samsung HD-850 or HD-950. There is a key sequence that will disable HDCP thru component. I believe it's something along the line of holding Angle and hitting 4, 3, 2, 7. It's on here somewhere, just search for it, if these models interest you.

I think he was looking for a player that also has DivX support. From what I have read, the samsungs do not have that. I can confirm this tonight as my 950 that I ordered just came in and is sitting on my desk at work. I think early pics of the 950 had DivX logos on it, but they removed the feature for some reason. (why include useful features in the first place?)

Thanks for all ideas. The Neodigits are way too expensive for me right now. BUt I did find something that might do the trick. The LG Upconverting HD DVD DivX Compatible DVD Player (LDA-531). Anyone have any thoughts on this?
