Hey all

I just managed to finally pick up my new Xbox 360. Im running it on a year old Advent standard TV hooked up via the component jacks (my Tivo runs via the S-video jack)

Im massively dissapointed in the graphics so far....to me, it almost looks like my old Xbox/Gamecube. The demos in the stores look AMAZING via the little 19" HDTVs they use - so Im REALLY hoping I will be happier with a decent HDTV.

Anyway, I just found on Bestbuy a nice $799 LCD Westinghouse Wide-Screen 27" HDTV-ready TV.

Thanks!

Thanks!

looks good,I also have a no name LCD and as far as gaming my CRT HDTV blows it away if you have the space I'd get a SONY CRT HDTV for around the same price.http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6494135&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat31800050030&id=1077628885856. if not go for the LCD it's just the blacks IMHO don't look good on lower priced LCD'S (to me) every one is different go look for your self. 360 HD gaming will blow you away, have fun and dowload all the demos.

You could always take the 360 with you to the store and have it hooked up to see if
it is what you are looking for as far a graphics are concerned. I brought my 360 to Best Buy and ended up drawing a crowd when it was hooked up to the 62" Toshiba DLP with Call of Duty pumping out pure goodness.
Note: If you have the premium system with the component cables make sure to switch the tab on the cable to HDTV while playing...you will see a difference and you will love it.

I have the 32" Westinghouse...and a 360, and to me it is amazingly great, but after I ran Digital Video Essentials DVD on it....it is TRUELY amazing. the analog takes a hit on the PQ but digital is pretty good but HD is great.

The LTV-27w2 is an uncommon bargain! I bought one last spring and it has given me many hours of flawless Xbox 360 performance. I even bought one for my mother at Christmas (Best Buy had them on sale for about $600). The downsides for this TV: no ATSC tuner (though most folks get their HDTV feed from satellite or cable), substantial flicker when changing TV channels, and some serious scaling artifacts if you play back video (say, from a DVD player) with the screen size scaled. HD component signals at 720p and unscaled DVD playback look great, though.

I have the same issue. As i have a xobox 360 and no HDTV. But unlike y'all living in the States, there is no BestBuy or Circuit City near my base here in England, so I can not try out TVs and such before I buy. I rely on reviews and forum members opinions on TVs and such.

I have found this TV at amazon (one of the places I shop at cause they ship to APO addresses)
Philips 26" RealFlat HD-ready TV (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00032BVL2/sr=1-10/qid=1142270909/ref=sr_1_10/002-2662699-9250407?%5Fencoding=UTF8&s=audio-video)

I havn't been able to find any helpful reviews. So i'm wondering if anyone has experience with this TV.

The price drop seems almost to good to be true, but with the shipping I'll prolly have to pay, it'll be right around my price range.
